Enable Focused Problem Solving
Customer
The problem owner directly benefits from this activity. Any of the people and organisations affected by the problem or the implementation of its solution are indirect customers.
Actors
The problem owner and the systems engineering (development) team working on the problem. People affected by the problem or the implementation of its solution.
Transformations
The problem to be resolved is identified and isolated and a team is established and empowered to act and provide a resolution to the problem. The team will be briefed on the criteria for task completion, perhaps also on any solutions that are considered unacceptable. There may be intermediate time-bound objectives.
- The team are active in determining a solution.
- Progress is reviewed. Reviews include evaluation of solutions and their acceptability in meeting the predefined success criteria.
- The team continue until the success criteria are achieved or an alternate course of action determined.

A need to enable focused problem solving activity, to resolve a specific issue.
